Using Self Confidence to Get a Job Offer

People hire people whom they like and want to be around and people are naturally drawn to those who are self-confident. Self Confidence draws the interviewer to you, which helps create the connection that is the goal of the interview. Thus, it is more likely that you will be offered the job when you appear self-confident.
However, be careful not to come across as being arrogant. This impression can be a turn-off and place you further from your goal of connecting with the interviewer. A friend of mine who works in HR and does an incredible amount of hiring has shared numerous stories of how people lose consideration for a job when they brag and describe themselves in grandiose terms. Who wants to work with someone who thinks they know all of the answers and is superior to everyone else in the room?
Be honest with yourself and with the interviewer. Interviewing successfully is about being genuine while displaying confidence.
If you lack self-confidence, this will definitely show through in the interview. How can the interviewer be confident that you will do the job if you do not show confidence in yourself? Always act confidently in an interview even when you do not feel confident. Sometimes acting as though you have a skill is the first step to learning a new skill. You start with a change in behavior and it leads to changes in your thoughts and feelings.
To act confidently in an interview you should:
Arrive early
Find a bathroom, wash your hands and give yourself one last look in a mirror.
Make eye contact with the interviewer
Give a firm handshake
Smile
Stand tall and sit up straight
Speak with a clear and strong voice
Share your success
Communicate solutions you provided to past problems and challenges
Show a can-do attitude by being enthusiastic, optimistic and flexible in your responses.
